EXPERIMENT 001 / COLLISION OBSERVATORY
Explore the invisible. Follow the tracks. Discover what remains.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE SIGNAL
Inspired by concentric tracking systems, calorimeters and muon chambers in collider experiments such as ATLAS and CMS. Charged particles bend in magnetic fields; neutral particles leave straight calorimeter signatures.
Events are transverse 2D projections in arbitrary detector units. Opposite azimuthal particle pairs balance visible transverse momentum. Track curvature scales with charge divided by transverse momentum. Energy is calculated from momentum and a simplified species mass, in natural units (c = 1).
The 13.6 TeV label describes the motivating beam scale, not energy deposited by every event. This model omits longitudinal motion, pileup, detector inefficiency, full shower development and realistic decay chains.
A hand-written heuristic compares muon fraction, photon fraction, track multiplicity and angular concentration against four class prototypes. Softmax converts distances into relative match scores. These are demonstration scores, not calibrated probabilities or CERN’s AI.
Every event has a 32-bit seed and a generator version. The same seed and selected process produce the same particles. Recent events and challenge scores stay in this browser when storage is available. Challenge labels are hidden until you submit; ambiguous events can fool the classifier.
Select a track in the detector or particle register.
TRUST YOUR OBSERVATIONS
Inspect the tracks and submit a prediction. Labels return after your answer.
